MP Ali Sabry said he is still the Minister of Finance as the President did not accept his resignation.
He said so, in response to a question of TNA MP M.A. Sumanthiran.
Ali Sabry was appointed as the Finance Minister on 4 April after the entire Cabinet resigned following public unrest. However, he told Parliament on the following day that he would resign from the post.
Speaking in Parliament today (8), Ali Sabry said,
"There could be persons who are better than me. But, no one accept the invitation to take the post. So I will do my best for the country."
