MP and former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka blamed both the Army and the Department of Police over the “biker squad” incident which took place during a protest near Parliament yesterday.
Fonseka said he did not accept the conduct of the police officer who mishandled the incident.
“Even if the Army assaulted the police officers, I would have said the same thing,” he added.
At the same time, Fonseka said the Army biker squad should not have gone near the protestors.
“What if someone grabs a weapon and commits a criminal act?” He asked.
