The Government has lost the majority in Parliament with 41 MPs deciding to leave the Government.

This includes 30 MPs from the SLFP and the constituent parties of the government and 11 MPs from the SLPP.

Meanwhile, Ceylon Workers Congress led by Jeevan Thondaman also said his party would leave the Government
