Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa he would resign from his ministerial portfolio if the SLFP ministers too could resign from their positions.

He made this remark in response to a statement made by former President Maithripala Sirisena that the number of Cabinet ministers should be reduced.

In addition to reduce the number of Cabinet ministers, the need for presenting a new budget for 2022 was also discussed at the All Party Conference convened by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa last week.

"The ministers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party can resign and set an example, I too will follow suit," Rajapaksa said.
