Attorney General has informed the court that steps are being taken to pay salaries and allowances due to Dr. Shafi Sihabdeen during the time he was sent on compulsory leave and suspended from Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.

The Public Sercvices Commisison previously directed the Health Ministry Secretrary to pay him all the salaries and remunerations for the period he was on compulsory leave.

Dr. Shafi was sent on compulsory leave from May 24, 2019. He was arrested on the charges fof performing illegal sterilization on women.
