The Cabinet has decided to appoint a Technical Committee to discuss Sri Lanka's assistance programme from the International Monetary Fund.
A memorandum submitted by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa has been approved by the Cabinet.
The committee will be appointed by the Central Bank's Financial Experts.
In his address to the nation, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said his Government would continue to work with the IMF to resolve the current economic crisis.
