Initial police investigations have revealed that Minister Gamini Lokuge's driver had been killed due to a personal dispute.
A motorcyclist had been speeding on the road in front of the victim's house last evening and the Minister's driver had told him to slow down, the police said.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the enraged motorcyclist had returned with another group and had beaten the victim with a club. They had also stabbed him multiple times, a police officer said.
The driver who was seriously injured died on admission to the Piliyandala District Hospital, a hospital spokesman said. The 41 year old victim was a father of two.
