Litro Gas is likely to run out of their existing gas stocks tomorrow (22) night, a senior official at the company told media today.
The official said that gas will be released from Litro's Kerawalapitiya gas terminal until tonight and that nearly 100,000 gas cylinders will be released tomorrow.
A ship carrying 3,500 metric tons of gas is scheduled to reach Sri Lankan waters tonight (21), he said, adding that it could release gas for another three days.
The official said that the demand for gas in Sri Lanka is 35,000 metric tons per month and at present, the company has received only 10,000 metric tons per month.
Long queues were seen across the country today to buy gas and the large majority of gas stations had not received adequate stocks.
