Minister Namal Rajapaksa has come under severe criticism on social media for indulging himself in water sports in the Maldives while Sri Lanka is going through an unprecedented economic crisis.

A flyboard instructor in the Maldives posted pictures of Rajapaksa and thanked the Sri Lankan Minister for using their services.

Many Sri Lankans on social media questioned the motive of Rajapksa's visit to the Maldives while Sri Lankans are suffering without the basics due to the prevailing foreign exchange crisis in the country.

The Minister is yet to respond to the matter.
