Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara today annouced that he would distance himself from the functions of his ministerial portfolio in protest of the removal of Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila.
However, Nanayakkara said he would not resign from his Cabinet position.
"I will not go to the minitstry and will not perform the functions of a minister. I will also not attend the weekly cabinet meeting," the Minister said.
He said he wanted to show his displeasure at the injustice suffered by Weerawansa and Gammanpila.
Nanayakkara made these remarks while addressing a press conference convened by Weerawansa and Gammanpila this morning,
