The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that they had not received a request for financial support from Sri Lanka, from the Government of Sri Lanka.

However, the IMF stated that they stand ready to discuss options if requested and they are continue to closely monitor economic and policy developments in Sri Lanka.

”As is always the case, we would be looking for all participants to play their part, as appropriate.” Gerry Rice, the Communications Director of the IMF told the media.
