Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has said that former President Maithripala Sirisena should be expelled from the chairmanship of the SLFP for forming an alliance with the SLPP.

She also said that Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena had destroyed the Sri Lanka Freedom Party which she she once led.

Kumaratunga said that Maithripala Sirisena had not listened to her repeated requests not to join the SLFP and that she had been removed from the party's politburo and organizing committee due to this difference of opinion.

The former president also said that Maithripala Sirisena was now repeating what she had said for more than two years.
