The cabinet reshuffle is scheduled to take place on the 10th, informed political sources said.
It is learned that SM Chandrasena, who is currently the Minister of Lands, is to be appointed the Minister of Agriculture replacing Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
About six ministries are expected to undergo changes at the reshuffle, the sources added.
Ministers Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila and Vasudewa Nanayakkara will also receive new ministries at the reshuffle.
Meanwhile, it is reported that a new MP will be appointed as the State Minister of Education Reforms, Open Universities and Distance Education Promotion. The position was previously held by Susil Premajayantha who was sacked from his ministerial portfolio by the President.
