Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said the country’s foreign reserves would exceed USD 3 Billion by the end of this year.
In an interview with a private TV station last night, the Central Bank Governor said the public should not fear about the country’s foreign reserves which have now hit a record low.
However, the CB Governor refused to reveal further details about the source of funding stating that the Central Bank would adopt “radio silence” on the matter.
“I promised earlier that the country’s foreign reserves will exceed USD 3 Billion by the end of this year, which means December 31, 2021. That is the deadline. You cannot come on December 15 and ask about the status of the money. Look at the status of our foreign reserves by the end of this year,” Cabral said.
