The Court of Appeal today (Jan. 17) issued an interim order against Litro and Laugfs Gas, directing them to release only domestic gas cylinders that meet the standards set by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
The Court of Appeal also ordered the recall of unused gas cylinders currently on the market.
The court also directed the companies to display the contents of a domestic gas cylinder.
The Court of Appeal issued the order on a petition filed by Nagananda Kodithuwakku, a civil society activist, seeking an inquiry into the explosions caused by the gas leak.
The order was issued by a panel of judges comprising Ruwan Fernando and Sampath Wijeyeratne.
