Several senior ruling party figures from the Gampaha district have adopted a silent approach towards the "sex tape controversy" involving a Gampaha district MP of the ruling party.
When asked by our reporters whether the incident would lead to disciplinary action against the MP, they refrained from commenting on the matter. The MP was not present in Parliament yesterday and repeated calls to his mobile phone went unanswered.
The MP in question had allegedly been caught on camera having sex with a female party supporter at his political office.
It has now been revealed that the incident was recorded on camera by the wife of the female party supporter. The person who recorded the video said the politician had an illicit affair with his wife.
After realizing that the husband of the woman had stormed into the office with his camera, the politician was captured running away naked.
The person who recorded the incident also captured footage of the vehicle of the MP parked outside the political office.
