The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today lodged a complaint with the CID against a Facebook page referred to by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa during the recent "Gama Samaga Pilisandarak" programme.

A page by the name of 'JVP Parisaravediyo" was referred to by the President as a platform disseminating false information on the alleged environmental destruction happening in the country.

Former JVP MP Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, in his complaint, requested the CID to find out the operators of the page.

The JVP said the party or its members had no connection whatsoever with the page under question.
