Prison authorities have taken measures to quarantine former Minister Ravi Karunanayake and eight other suspects in the Treasury bonds case in the women's section of the Welikada prison.

Authorities said the women's section of the prison remained vacant as the inmates occupying the section had been transferred to other prisons.

Strict measures are currently in place to ensure the security of the former Minister and other suspects in the bond case.

Other suspects who are currently in remand custody include Arjuna Aloysius, Kasun Palisena, Geoffrey Aloysius, Ranjan Hulugalle, Muthuraja Surendran, Sangarapillai Pathmanathan and Indika Saman Kumara.
