Former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Prime Minister Maithripala Sirisena have discussed the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (POCI) report on Easter Sunday attack when they met in Colombo yesterday, sources close to the two parties said.
Sirisena and Wickremesinghe met during a felicitation event to welcome Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in Colombo. A number of notable figures from diverse fields of influence attended tjhe event. Sirisena and Wickremesinghe, the two heads of the previous government, were seated at the same table during the event and they were seen exchanging ideas.
Meanwhile, SLFP stalwart Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said the former President was in touch with his legal team on the allegations levelled against him in the PCOI report.
Amaraweera said Sirisena would decide on his future course of action based on the opinion given by his legal team. The former President, now a Member of Parliament representing the ruling party, is yet to express his opinion on the PCOI report.
The PCOI report on Easter Sunday attacks has recomemnded criminal proceedings against the former President for securipy lapses leading to the Easter Sunday attacks.
