Four Sri Lankan cricketers - Kusal Janith Perera, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Dilruwan Perera and Dhanushka Gunathilake - have failed the fitness test carried out by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) ahead of the West Indies tour.

All players in the squad were given the task of running 2 km in 8 minutes and 35 seconds. The players who failed the test will be given chance to take a repeat test in 40 days and become eligible for selection.

Kusal Mendis did not take the test due to a personal reason while Dhananjaya de Silva and Avishka Fernando did not participate due to injuries. Lahiru Thirimanne also did not take part in the test as he has been infected with COVID19.
