Health officials say 30 Civil Defence personnel at the Ndakuliya Civil Defence Training Camp have been infected with COVID19.

The infected Civil Defence Personnel had reportedly participated in the 73rd Independence Day celebration in Colombo.

Colonel Epsitha Dissanayake, Personnel and Administrative Director, Civil Defense Department said the infected persons were found after 62 officers at the Kalpitiya training camp underwent a rapid antigen test.

The Kalpitiya Medical Officer of Health said that the infected Civil Defence Force personnel were directed to the COVID19 Treatment Center in Dankotuwa.
