The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has granted approval for the emergency use of the Oxford- AstraZeneca vaccine for Covid-19, State Minister Professor Channa Jayasumana has said.

Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr Hemantha Herath has also said that necessary rehearsals will be carried out in the coming week and vaccination-related regulatory work is being prepared for this.

He said that health units in the country were currently preparing to distribute the vaccines as per the priority list Sri Lanka made, as soon as the country receives the vaccines.
