Ranjan's Supporters Prevented From Entering Supreme Court Premises Citing COVID19 Outbreak: MP To Be Sent For Quarantine

A large number of people who gathered in Hulftsdorp to pledge solidarity with MP Ranjan Ramanayake were prevented from entering the Supreme Court premises citing the pandemic outbreak in the country.

Two MPs, Mayantha Dissanayake and Nalin Bandara were also not allowed to enter the SC premises.

The development took place as the Supreme Court delivered the ruling on the contempt of court case against Ramanayake. The MP is likely to lose his parliamentary seat due to the conviction.

Ramanayake was sentenced to 04 years Rigorous Imprisonment by the Supreme Court earlier today. He will be sent to the Pallansena Correctional Centre for Youthful Offenders for quarantine.
