The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has issued notice to former Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Arjuna Mahendran, requiring him to appear on February 25, 2025, in connection with a case filed by the Bribery Commission over the 2015 bond scam.

The case alleges the misappropriation of government bonds, resulting in a loss of over Rs. 10 billion to the state. The order was issued by Colombo Magistrate Thilina Gamage following a request from the Bribery Commission.
