Dayasiri Jayasekera was the first Sri Lankan MP to be tested positive for COVID19. After his detection, MP Rauff Hakeem and Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara were also tested positive for the virus.

Seven persons and about 30 members of their families in the Nikaweratiya electorate who went to Jayasekera's political office have been place under quarantine, the Health authorities said.
