Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara has been infected with COVID19, the government sources confirmed a short while ago.

Nanayakkara is the third parliament to be tested positive for COVID19 thus far. SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera and SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem have already been tested positive for the virus.

Nanayakkara is one of the oldest MPs representing the current legislature. Born on January 03, 1939, Nanayakkara is now 82 years old.

However, several sources close to him said the Minister's health condition is stable and he is under close medical observation.A number of MPs and parliamentary staffers who came into close contacts with the infected MPs have been asked to adopt strict health precautions.
