Body Of COVID19 Victim Kept At Homagama Base Hospital For Nearly 25 Days: Identity Of Victim Yet To Be Established

The body of a person who died of COVID19 has been kept at the Homagama Base Hospital morgue for 25 days,the Homagama Base Hospital Police said.

The man who was lying on the road in the Peliyagoda area was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital by an ambulance on the 5th.

He was later diagnosed with COVID19 and was admitted to the Homagama Base Hospital for further treatment. According to hospital authorities, the patient died on Decemner 07th.

The body had to be kept at the morgue for 25 days as the hospital had not received any information including his identity at the time of his admission. As a result, no decision has been made on the disposal of the body. The hospital record says the victim is believed to be a beggar and was about 62 years old at the time of his death.
