All flights from the United Kingdom will NOT be apermitted to enter Sri Lanka after 2.00am tomorrow (23) until further notice.

The decision has been made due to the spread of new variant COVID-19 in the UK. However, several flights from the UK have arrived in Sri Lanka over the past few days.

More than 40 have blocked flights or travel links with the UK, as the EU held talks on forming a common policy.

Meanwhile, travellers from South Africa are also facing bars from some countries after another new variant of the virus was discovered that is unrelated to the one found in the UK.
