Supreme Court Fire: Damage To Record Room Yet To Be Assessed; Police Spokesman Says No Documents Destroyed

The Police said the fire erupted at the apex court complex at Hulftsdorp, Colombo, has been brought under control.

The Fire Brigade said it deployed nine trucks were to douse the fire. The Attorney General and Senior DIG for Colombo Deshabandu Tennakoon also rushed to the scene to monitor the situation.

However, the exact damage caused by the fire is yet to be assessed. It is still not clear whether the fire has affected the record room of the courts complex.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that no documents relating to court cases have been destroyed due to the fire.

Meanwhile, the IGP has appointed three CID teams to find out the cause of the fire.
