The Unity Plaza mall in Bambalapitiya has been temporarily shut down following the detection of four COVID19 patients.
The patients have been referred to treatment centers and their close contacts have been quarantined.
However, the operations at Unity Plaza will resume soon once the premises is disinfected according to guidelines set by the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, the Peliyagoda fish market, which was closed down following the outbreak of a COVID19 cluster last month, will be reopened from the midnight of December 16.
Subject Minister Douglas Devananda has directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Western Province to ensure that trade activities are carried out in accordance with health instructions and that the law is strictly enforced for those who do not follow proper health guidelines.
However, under the first phase, only wholesale trade will be permitted at the fish market.
