Sohail Tanveer, a Pakistani all-rounder who arrived in the island to participate in the Lankan Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament, has been infected with COVID19.

This has been comfirmed following a PCR test that was done upon the cricketer's arrival in the country.

Thanveer was included in the Sri Lankan T20 league after Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz pulled out of the tournament.

Thanveer is the second overseas player in the T20 to be infected with COVID19.

Both players have been sent for medical treatment.
