Veteran actor and singer Wijeratne Warakagoda is in good health and there is no truth to the rumours that the actor has passed away, Warakagoda's family sources said.

Several Facebook pages reported this morning that the actor had passed away due to a sudden illness.

Warakagoda, one of the most respected artists in the country, is also the father of well-known musician Jananath Warakagoda.

"He is amused by the rumours and the constant phone calls. He is in good health and there is no major issue concerning his health," family sources added.
