Lotus Tower will be lit at 6.45 pm today to honour and pay tribute to the Healthcare, Armed Forces, Police and all supporting personnel, who are leading the battle against COVID19, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa announced a short while ago.

"Their selfless service is the lifeblood of our country today and it’s our duty to take care of them," Rajapaksa added. The move is aimed at encouraging healthcare workers and government workers who are leading the battle against the COVID19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.

The Lotus Tower was constructed with assistance from China.
