Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara has offered to be the driver of a vehicle distributing food for the needy during the curfew period.
In a Facebook post, a Sub Inspector attached to the Thalangama Police Station said the former cricketer contacted her the OIC of the police station and made himself available for the service.
Sangakkara is a resident of Thalawathugoda, an area coming under the purview of the Thalangama Police station. The entire Western province is uner curfew indefinitely due to fears of escalation of the COVID19 outbreak.
The former cricketer was on self-quarantine for two weeks following his return from London.
He is due to complete her quarantine period in two days.
