The Cooperatives Department today initiated 'Api Enathuru Gendhara Inna' programme in the Western province, through which dry goods valued at between Rs. 500 and Rs. 1, 000 ordered over the phone is delivered home.
In a statement, the government said, this brings together 38 cooperative societies in the Western province towards and that process will be strengthened by Divisional Secretary and Grama Sevaka.
This comes as a part of the government's plan to suppress the spread of COVID19 in Sri Lanka.
Medical authorities have warned the government that subsequent lifting of curfew will increase the spread of the virus in the high-risk areas.
