Due to the ongoing island-wide curfew, imposed by the government as a means to battle the coronavirus (Covid-19), a large number of patients who obtain prescribed medicines from hospitals and pharmacies have been inconvenienced.
Taking this into consideration, the Ministry of Health has decided to keep all pharmacies in the island open during curfew hours.
The Ministry has given the relevant instructions to the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Accordingly, the patient’s diagnosis and prescription are allowed to be used as a curfew pass.
In addition, the Health Ministry has requested the Acting IGP to grant permission for movement of pharmacy workers and vehicles transporting medicines while the curfew is in force.
