The curfew has been extended until further notice in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, the President's Media Division (PMD) announced a short while ago.
The PMD said the government would devise a plan to have essentials sold/delivered to houses.
The decision comes as a result of Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara being identified as high-risk districts for COVID19.
Health authorities have pointed out that the public convergence at stores while curfew lifted will make it difficult to contain the spread of the virus.
The PMD also says the government has advised stores to take essentials to homes and sell there. The government will work with all supermarket chains in this regard and will utilise lorries, three-wheelers, bicycles for distribution/delivery.
The new plan, under the direction of Basil Rajapaksa, will come into effect tomorrow (25).
