The Horana General Hospital has been designated as a COVID19 treatment centre, the Ministry of Health said.

"Existing patients at the hospital will be transferred or moved home within two days and all other medical procedures will be halted," the Ministry announced.

Meanwhile, the Welikanda Hospital in the Polonnaruwa District has also been designated as a COVID-19 treatment centre.

Meanwhile, Directors of 24 hospitals have been given PCR test kits by the MoH
