Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne has pledged support to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

Senaratne previously supported the Wickremesinghe group within the UNP and advocated contesting the election under the elephant symbol.

He also spearheaded negotiations between the Premadasa and Wickremesinghe groups to arrive at a solution.

Senaratne, however, was present at the brief ceremony to mark the opening of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya office in Kotte.
