Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said he was "curious" to know who’s political agenda it is to have an arrest warrant issued on him less than 12 hours after Parliament was dissolved when the case has been ongoing for almost 5 years.
In a statement, Karunanayake said he was confident that the "truth will be revealed".
The former Finance Minister said he was not involved in any wrongdoing and had no connection whatsoever to the bond transaction.
The Attorney General recently instructed the Acting IGP to obtain arrest warrants on a number of individuals including Karunanayake, former CB Governor Arjuna Mahendran and Perpetual Treasuries Owner Arjuna Aloysius.
