Social media is reacting strongly to footage of a local man harassing a foreign couple that had chosen to support Sri Lanka at the recently concluded Second ODI between Sri Lanka and the West Indies that was played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Sooryaweva, Hambantota.

In the footage, the Lankan man can be seen speaking in an aggressive manner to the couple and attempting—on more than one occasion—to remove the Sri Lankan flag from around the female supporters shoulders,while her partner attempts to prevent him from touching her.

Those on social media are appalled at the manner in which the local was behaving and have called to question the hospitality touted by the tourism industry as incentive to visit Sri Lanka.

Some have pointed out out how far worse it was that no one involved themselves in the incident, allowing the foreign couple to be harassed by the offended local.
