The Navy and Air Force Police have been deployed to control traffic in Colombo to ease the congestion.

This was in addition to the Military Police, which has already been deployed to help the traffic police.

The move is greeted with mixed reaction on social media.

However, JVP MP Bimal Ratnaike yesterday tweeted that the incremental militarization of society was a clear sign of a failed state machinery.
