The Jathika Hela Urumaya said it would contest as a constituent party of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya at the upcoming parliamentary election.

JHU leader Patali Champika Ranawaka has reportedly obtained membership with the Samagi Jana Balwegaya. He is tipped to be appointed the National Organizer of the new alliance.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya is led by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

However, the symbol of the alliance for the parliamentary election is still unclear.
