The Tamil National Alliance expressed disappointment with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa's position on the US travel ban on Army Commander Shavendra Silva

The TNA said it was ‘disappointing’ that the Opposition Leader does not appreciate ‘fundamental position of the Tamil people’ even after obtaining over 85% of the vote in the North and East provinces.

Premadasa criticised the US for imposing a travel ban on Silva and his family over war crimes allegations that remain unaddressed since the end of the war.

a UNP MP supporting Premadasa said at a press conference that all Sri Lankans should avoid visiting the US in protest of the ban on the Army Commander.
