Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said he would make a decision on the district from which he would contest the upcoming Parliamentary election after seeking the views of the public and the Maha Sangha.
Speaking to the media after meeting senior Buddhist monks in Kandy, Premadasa said he had received requests from various districts to contest at the upcoming Parliamentary election.
Premadasa said his decision on the matter would depend on the role he has to play in national politics.
Sources close to Premadasa said the latter would not contest from the Hambantota District - an area he represented for over 25 years.
UNP sources said Premadasa was more likely to contest from the Colombo district.
