Popular actor Kavinga Perera has been arrested by the Police for causing an accident in Thalangama.

One person, who was critically injured in the accident, had later succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as a construction worker.

Perera had attempted to escape after the accident. However, a group of residents in the area had apprehended the actor and handed him over to the Thalangama Police.

He is expected to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate.
