The Samagi Jathika Sandhanaya, the alliance led by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, will contest the upcoming Parliamentary election under the symbol 'Swan'.

The decision was made following a discussion that took place this evening, UNP National Organizer Navin Dissanayake said.

Sajith Premadasa contested the last Presidential election under the same symbol.

The United National Party, the Tamil Progressive Alliance, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and the Jathika Hela Urumaya have pledged to join the alliance.

UNP MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara will be the General Secretary of the new alliance.
