Sri Lanka Freedom People's Alliance has sought registration from the Elections Commission.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has been named as the Leader of the alliance while former President Maithripala Sirisena has been named as party Chairman.

Basil Rajapaksa will function as the General Secretary while Dayasiri Jayasekera and Wimal Weerawansa have been named as National Organizers.
