Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday said that he has nothing to do with the formation of any political party and that he is not among the recipients of 100 new memberships said to be reserved by the party.

He made this observation speaking to the media after an event yesterday in Colombo.

He also spoke about the recent debate on the IGP, saying that when he was Defence Secretary, IGPs had professionalism.

An officer with three decades of service experience should be professional in his conduct, Rajapaksa said.
