The Attorney General today withdrew a case against former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and former Director General of Divi Neguma Department Kithsiri Ranawake regarding the printing and distribution of new year almanacs using divi neguma funds.

The AG cited a technicality as the reason. When the indictment was filed, a sanction letter by the AG had not been submitted.

All orders pertaining to the case, including travel bans, will now be nullified.

The AG informed that indictment will be served on the matter later.
